MISSION STATEMENT

PPL GOLD Credit Union's mission is to provide our members with a solid fiscal advantage through offering competitive loans and deposit products and convenient services.

We recognize the individuality of each member. We want to bring convenience to our members' lives because we want them to find interacting with their credit union a positive experience that exceeds their expectations. We will accord members the respect, service and courtesy they deserve, for they are the true owners of our credit union.

OUR STORY

PPL GOLD was formed by the merger of the PPL General Office Credit Union and the PPL Lehigh Division Credit Union in 1990. Both former credit unions were chartered in 1937 to serve the economic requirements of employees of Pennsylvania Power & Light Company and their family members. In 2007, PPL GOLD Credit Union began adding select employer groups to their eligible field of membership. PPL GOLD is unique. Not-for-profit and member-owned, we are dedicated to satisfying our members' financial needs.

FINANCIAL STRENGTH: SAFE, SOUND, SECURE

PPL GOLD has an enviable financial history. Your credit union, which is well capitalized, is audited annually by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and consistently earns the highest rating issued. In addition, member's accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, the most financially sound insurance fund in the nation.

PPL GOLD, with assets of more than $100 million, ranks among the top five percent (5%) of credit unions in the state of Pennsylvania, in terms of asset size. By concentrating our financial services in savings and loans, without expensive ancillary services, we offer money-saving features distinguished by high savings rates and low loan rates. In addition to maintaining a very strong liquidity and financial position, we are dedicated to providing exceptional service.

PPL GOLD is definitely your best choice for:

  • Higherrates on deposits
  • Lowerrates on loans
  • Excellent service

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY

We would be pleased to have you join PPL GOLD Credit Union and begin taking advantage of our membership benefits. However, there are governmental regulatory restrictions on who is eligible to join credit unions. In our case, membership is limited to:

  • Employees of Contractors for PPL Corporation and PPL Corporation subsidiaries
  • Employees of Computer Aid, Inc. (CAI)

  • Employees of O'Brien's Moving & Storage
  • Employees of PPL GOLD Credit Union
  • Employees of Scott Cars, Inc. (effective October 1, 2010)
  • Retirees or annuitants for any of the above companies
  • Immediate family members of existing members
An immediate family member is defined as a spouse, child, brother, sister, parent, grandparent and grandchild.
  • Members of Household
A "household" consists of persons who live in the same residence and maintain a single economic unit. This includes roommates, domestic partners, same-sex partnerships, common law marriage (if legal within the state) and similar nontraditional living arrangements.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

If you are eligible for membership at PPL GOLD, all you have to do is open a Share Savings Account to become a member. Your initial deposit of $5.00 or more represents your share in the credit union.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.

We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
