Congratulations 2011 Scholarship Winners 

 PPL GOLD Credit Union granted five lucky members a $1,000 scholarship toward their pursuit of higher education at a college, university, technical or vocational school. This year we received 216 applications. On August 3, 2011, the following members were randomly selected to receive a scholarship:
 Kyle Aicher, Cory Beam, Erik Golant, Laura Kaufmann and Jamie Lorah.

Kyle Aicher is a freshman at DeSales University and is pursuing a course of study in Biology and Pre-Medicine. He is a 2011 graduate of Northampton High School. Kyle received the Raymond F. & Mabel Bryfogel Memorial Scholarship and was the President of the Sports Club at Northampton High School. Kyle works at Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville, PA, performing golf course maintenance.

Erik Golant is a freshman at Lehigh Carbon Community College and is pursuing a course of study in Communications and Liberal Arts. He is a 1997 graduate of William Allen High School where he maintained the photo editor position for the school paper.

Cory Beam is a sophomore at Duquesne University and is pursuing a course of study in Finance and International Business. He is active in Club Swimming and Club Rugby. Cory is a 2010 graduate of Parkland High School.

Laura Kaufmann is a post-graduate student at Kutztown University and is pursuing a course of study in German, French, Anthropology and Geography. Laura holds a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology. She spent a semester abroad at University College in London and took advantage of resources like the British Museum. She interned at Bryn Mawr’s Graduate School of Social Work and the Office of International Programs. She also volunteered in the college’s extensive archaeological collections. Laura’s goal is to teach at a university. She is a 2006 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.

Jamie Lorah is a junior at Grove City College and is pursuing a course of study in Spanish and Sociology. She is a Grove City College Presidential Scholar and is on the Dean’s List. Jamie is a Crown & Scepter Women’s Service Honorary, an Alpha Mu Gamma Foreign Language Honorary and an Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honorary. Jamie is a 2009 graduate of Parkland High School.
