-
What will the credit union’s new address be?
The address of our new branch and administration building is:
4703 Hamilton Boulevard
Allentown, PA 18103
That address will also be our mailing address and the address you should use when mailing deposits, loan documents or any other information to the credit union.
-
Will the credit union have a new phone number?
All of our phone numbers will be changing in conjunction with the move to our new branch and administration building. Our new phone and fax numbers are:
Phone: 484-223-4200
Fax: 484-223-4250
Individual phone numbers will also be changing. Members will be notified when the additional new phone numbers are available. After we move, you will be able to retrieve our new phone numbers when you call our old phone numbers for three months.
-

Members will not need new checks to reflect our new address. You can simply use your current checks—with our old address—until you need a refill. All refilled checks will be provided with our new address after we have moved.
-
Will there be a drive through or ATM at the new facility?
During the early stages of development for our new facility, we took into consideration our members’ needs when determining whether or not we should have a drive through and ATM. Most of our members utilize direct deposit and have a limited need to cash checks.
Since our main goal was to build a cost-effective facility, we decided not to build an expensive drive-through or ATM. Our decision was confirmed after we evaluated the needs of our members. Our members typically don’t have the financial habits that require the frequent use of these expenses and we’d rather spend our money providing you with high savings rates, low loan rates and essentially no fees.
-
How many branches does PPL GOLD have now?
PPL GOLD has two branches that serve our members. Our General Office is located in the Plaza building at 835 W. Hamilton St. and our new facility will be the location of our Lehigh Division located at 4703 Hamilton Blvd. Our new facility will also be the location for our administration and we will share the office space with the Lehigh Division.
-
How many employees are there at PPL GOLD?
There are currently 20 employees assisting members, overseeing back office operations and conducting other day-to-day activities to keep the credit union operating at its finest.
-
Where did the word GOLD come from?
The word GOLD references back to 1990 when the General Office Credit Union and the Lehigh Division Credit Union merged to form PPL GOLD Credit Union. The acronym can be credited to Charles Braxmeier, who was the Lehigh Division’s General Manager at the time.
In keeping with tradition, the new branch and administration building at 4703 Hamilton Blvd. will be referred to as the Lehigh Division. The Plaza Branch, which is located at 835 W. Hamilton St., will still be referred to as the General Office.

Why is the General Office in the Plaza and the Lehigh Division at the PPL Lehigh Service Center both closing early on Friday, April 23?
In preparation of our move to our new branch and administration facility, we need to close both branches at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 23. The Lehigh Division at the PPL Lehigh Service Center will be preparing to move from their current location to our new location at 4703 Hamilton Blvd. The General Office at the Plaza will not be moving, but they will be preparing for a technology change with our computer and phone systems.
We apologize for any inconveniences our early closing may cause. You can still access your accounts online through our Internet Banking. You can also use over 37,000 of our surcharge-free ATMs with your PPL GOLD VISA debit card to make cash withdrawals.
