WARNING!
Text Message Scam

Fraudulent text messages have been circulating advising people that their accounts, credit cards or debit cards have been blocked or de-activated. The text messages are encouraging people to respond to the text to unblock and reactivate their accounts and cards. These text messages appear to be coming from credit unions and other financial institutions. All of these text messages are fraudulent. Please do not respond to these messages or release any of your account information.

The text messages are a scam known as a smishing fraud, where fraudulent messages are sent to cell phones and PDA’s via text messages. Smishing frauds are both criminal and illegal.

PPL GOLD Credit Union, and other financial institutions, will NEVER request your personal or financial account information via text message or email. If you have any questions about the smishing fraud, or if you did respond to a text message similar to the one mentioned above, please contact PPL GOLD at 484-223-4200, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00PM EST.
